Back to School Outfit with Shopcade

I recently did an #OOTD post on an outfit which would be perfect if you are just going back to college/uni.

Unfortunately I don't have a close up of the print on my dress but it is made up of lots of tiny daisies.

I have recently discovered an App called Shopcade which I use all the time on my phone, for making wishlists on the go. They also have a website here. If you are unfamiliar it is a wishlist app but you get alerts if anything on your "Want" list goes on offer. I do fear that this may be very bad for my bank balance, but hey ho you only live once!

I have made a wishlist of piece similar to the above if any of you would like to "shop my look" as it were.

I think that my absolute favourite piece is the bag, I have wanted a black satchel for so long and think it would work so well with my style.

Please note that this post is my entry to win £150 at a Shopcade retailer. I have not been paid for this feature.

September Wishlist

This month I have been lusting after:

1) Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray £21.50 for 125ml from Boots
2) Honey by Marc Jacobs £50 for 50ml from Debenhams
3) Laura Geller Brighten Blush £22 for 1.8g from QVC
4) GlamGlow Super Mud Face Mask £45 for 34g from Selfridges

1) I really wish that I could rock the "just come from the beach" look, but my hair is far too fine for any sort of style to hold really. I think this may be my answer!

2) I love all of the Marc Jacobs perfumes, especially Dot. Honey really reminds me of Dot but is fresher and lighter I would say.

3) Laura Geller is a brand that I am yet to try from but her products always appeal to me - just look at the colours in that blusher.

4) During August my skin has been playing up so badly, I quite fancy seeing if this mask from GlamGlow could sort it out.

What have you been lusting after recently?

#OOTD #10

Dress: H&M, Socks: Topshop, Shoes: New Look, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: Thomas Sabo

This is easily the most worn dress that I own. It is perfect for just chucking on for work or for the weekend in the daytime. I think it looks so cute with the little frilly socks and Mary-Janes.

Soap and Glory - Hand Maid

In all honesty I bought this to bump my Boots order to over £20 to qualify for free delivery. When it arrived I just chucked it in my handbag and didn't give it a second thought.

I do have quite a few of the anti bacterial hand gels dotted about; one on my bedside table and one at work etc, but this is the only one that doesn't have that antiseptic hospital smell. Hooray! It smells like your usual Soap and Glory range.

They are ideal to have around if you use public transport or don't always have access to a sink as you just need to blob a bit on your hand and rub it in.

This doesn't dry out your hands or leave them feeling like they have a residue on them. It also kills 99% of bacteria.

For £2.50 for 50ml I really don't think you can go wrong.

MAC - Viva Glam Nicki

On one of my many jaunts to the Trafford Centre I purchased the Viva Glam Nicki lipstick from MAC.

I have swatched this countless times before thinking "it's just too in your face for me", but I am trying to be more bold with my makeup choices so thought why not.

I would describe this as the perfect Barbie pink which is true to how it looks in the bullet. I find this to be longwearing and not drying on the lips. This is the first Satin finish I have used before from MAC and I am really impressed.

A massive bonus for me is that the full cost of this (less VAT) goes to the MAC AIDS fund which helps people all over the world with AIDS.

For £15 I do find this to be a bit steep, but you do need to treat yourself now and again. I also wish that this wasn't limited edition.

Here is Karl having a well deserved rest:

The Weekly Ramble #16

The weekly face:

I am still struggling so much with being tired, I think they have given me a duff B12 injection.

On Monday James and I went to the Trafford Centre to pick out my anniversary present, it is so beautiful I can't wait to open it (officially). I also had a horrendous panic attack while we were there which is so unlike me. It was so horrible and I'm so glad I don't have them regularly.

This week has been really good exercise wise, I have been to the gym 4 times which is my weekly goal. I try to do 2 weights sessions and 2 cardio sessions a week as this works best for me.

Today we are off to the Treacle Market in Macclesfield which is always a good day out. We always end up with so much food though, it's so hard to resist as everything looks so fresh and lovely.

Spending ban update: going well but bought 3 lip liners (only £1 each though!)

Have a good (extended!) weekend.

#OOTD #9

Top: Terranova, Trousers: La Redoute, Bag: Fiorelli, Watch: Fossil, Shoes: New Look

Yes you are not hallucinating, I am wearing trousers. This is what I wore to work yesterday, nothing too exciting but still smart enough for the office. I had to add the second picture, ridiculous cheesy face.

Barry M - Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polishes

Today I am going to be sharing with you 3 of my most used nail polishes this Summer.

The three polishes that I have from the Gelly range by Barry M are Greenberry, Lychee and Satsuma.

I originally bought Satsuma because I wanted a nice orange shade for Summer, and as you don't need a top coat this made it even more appealing to me. I tend to wear Satsuma on my toes for a little pop of colour.

I have been alternating between Lychee and Greenberry on my fingers. Lychee is quite a sophisticated nude which is perfect for looking professional in meetings and at work in general.

Greenberry is much more vibrant and a fun shade I would say. I don't really own many green/turquoise polishes so this was a welcome edition.

All of the shades are opaque in two coats and as mentioned previously don't need a top coat.

These retail for £3.99 from Boots and they have a total of 18 shades so there should be something for everyone.

Have you ever tried any of the Barry M Gelly polishes? What is your favourite shade?

Maybelline Babylips

I'm sure you've all heard of the Maybelline Babylips by now due to the insane amount of hype surrounding them. When I first heard that they were coming to the UK I literally did a little dance.

Naturally I had to buy all 6. As you can see from the above there are 3 tinted and 3 clear.

The 3 clear ones are "Intense Care" which is the yellow one and doesn't really smell of anything. "Mint Fresh" is the green one and, you guessed it, smells like mint but not in a synthetic way. The blue one is "Hydrate" and smells like sweets!

The three tinted ones are "Pink Punch" which is the pink one, and smells of sherberty sweets. The purple one is "Peach Kiss" and smells of fizzy peaches. Finally the orange one is "Cherry Me" and smells like super sweet synthetic cherries.

Top: Pink Punch, Middle: Peach Kiss, Bottom: Cherry Me.
On the lips they feel hydrating and nourishing. My personal favourite is the Cherry Me, purely for the scent I think. All in all for £2.99 each I don't think you can go wrong with these.

Have you tried any of the Babylips? What did you think of them?

Here we have Karl trying to figure out which one his treat is under:

The Weekly Ramble #15

The weekly face:

So this week I have been off work, the logic behind this was so that I could sort out the absolute jungle of a garden but I am not gardening in the rain!

As it is our wedding anniversary on the 28th I have been trying to come up with ideas for James' present. I have come up with 4 things so far so I think I am doing quite well.

As the weather has been rubbish I have been playing on my DS a lot, and have completed Professor Layton and the Last Spectre, go me!

I have also read "The Lake House" by James Patterson and quite enjoyed it. His Alex Cross novels are easily my favourites though.

On Thursday I went to Cheshire Oaks with the folks, it was soooo busy but I got a sneaky purchase! If any of you are followers on Twitter/Instagram, I did wear the tiara. In public.

Hope you have had a great week

Bomb Cosmetics - Rhubarb Rainbow Soap

I had a lovely surprise recently when James came home with a bar of Rhubarb Rainbow Soap for me. I have used a few things from Bomb Cosmetics before but absolutely years ago when I was first getting into girly sort of things.

The first thing that you notice on taking out of the bag, it smells absolutely divine, like rhubarb and custard sweets (my favourite!). I use this in the shower as I am more of a liquid soap kinda girl for my hands. I just pop on a pair of exfoliating gloves and lather this up with my hands. I always feel super squeaky clean after using this.

The one thing that I'm not so keen on is the fact the smell doesn't last very long afterwards, it sort of fades to that general soapy smell (like Grandmas).

I love the fact that the design goes all the way through and isn't just printed on top of the soap.

Just had a quick mooch on the website and it is £2.49 for a bar of Rhubarb Rainbow. I think that is quite a good price as it is quite sizeable and will last a long time.

Liz Earle - Body Try-Me Kit(*)

I was recently sent this Try Me Kit from Liz Earle for recommending a friend to their skincare.

My friends always come to me for their skincare woes which makes me happy that I am able to help someone. I do wonder if they think it strange that I know about so many products though!

Anyway, on to the actual goodies:

The kit contains:

A 50ml Energising Body Scrub
A 30ml Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash
A 30ml Energising Body Lotion
A 30ml Nourishing Botanical Body Cream

Which is all presented in a lovely little bag which would be perfect for popping in your weekend bag.

I have used the Orange Flower body wash and the Nourishing Botanical body cream previously, which I absolutely love. The Orange Flower range is quite a herby scent and definitely unisex. The body cream is very nourishing on the skin and has a light fragrance, again I would say that this is unisex.

The two that I hadn't used before I was really excited to try. The Energising Body Scrub is a really good body exfoliator and makes light work of those bumps that I get on the tops of my arms, and any little ingrown hairs from shaving. The smell is absolutely gorgeous, very fresh and quite earthy I would say.

The Energising Body Lotion was really lightweight and easily absorbed into the skin. I have just been popping this on after a shower and there is hardly any drying time at all.

I have just looked on the website and the Body Try-Me Kit retails for £20.75 which I think is excellent value. Each of these products is lasting me a good amount of time so don't be put off by the size.

Here we have Karl being wary of his massive castle:
